Changes in place due to Covid-19
Due to Covid-19 we are changing the way our practice works to protect our patients and ourselves. We are currently open but operating at a reduced capacity to accommodate the changes required to help keep everyone safe. At present, the only onsite appointments taking place are for Osteopathy.
New For Patients
We are currently running a virtual appointment before you come into the clinic, where we will screen for any symptoms of Covid-19, go through the case history and explain the new clinic procedures. Please ensure that you have this virtual appointment booked and are available for the 10-15 minute consultation, as without it we will not be able to treat you. As we require this extra appointment booked in before your onsite appointment we have currently disabled online bookings.
You will be asked to use hand sanitiser when you arrive at the clinic before you enter.
We currently need all patients to wear either a type IIR surgical mask, FFP 2 (N95) without a valve or FFP 3 (N99) without a valve. If you don’t have any of these we will give you a surgical mask when you arrive (how to put on a surgical mask: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCfyQ_N5IZI).
No Waiting Area:
To stop patients coming in contact with one another we are not operating our waiting area, so please arrive on time rather than early for appointments.
We can’t accommodate two people in the clinic at the same time, unless the second person is acting as a chaperone for the patient.
Due to the plinth no longer having a fabric cover you may wish to wear a t-shirt and loose/stretchy shorts for comfort/warmth.
If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with anyone who has in the past 14 days, please tell us before your face-to-face appointment.
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms.
Please inform us if you develop symptoms of or test positive for COVID-19 within 3 days of you treatment at the clinic.
Contactless payment methods will be used whenever possible.
New Clinical Procedures
All active practitioners are wearing FFP3 valveless mask whilst patients are in the building and for a time after as is required to sanitise the clinic.
All surfaces are to be cleaned with anti-viral cleaning agents between and after each patient appointment. Pre-existing furniture has been replaced with easy-to-clean alternatives to ensure thorough cleaning. Fabric plinth covers have been removed. Pillow cases have been replaced with easy-to-clean, water resistant case to ensure through cleaning.
Correct hand washing procedure has displayed in the bathroom facilities.
Practitioners are changing their shirts/tunics between sessions to remove change of inter-patient virus spreading. Hand sanitiser is to be used at all points of contact between the practitioner and the clinic environment.
If a patient reports symptoms during a treatment session; they will immediately be asked to leave and the clinic will close for a period of 14 days whilst the practitioners present completely isolate for a period of 14 days.
Although we are taking all these precautions to optimise safe practice, there is still risk to attending a physical appointment and we asked you to consider that risk with regard to yourselves and to any other (high risk) individuals you come into contact with (regularly or irregularly).
Please let us know if you have any questions and please stay safe,
Jonathan and Lucy
