Osteopathy at the SW7 Clinic

Here at The SW7 Clinic, Lucy Parsons and Jonathan Monsen provide osteopathy in South Kensington. Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment which is tailored to the individual who presents in our clinic.

Initial consultations usually take between 40 and 60 minutes (depending on the complexity).

Follow up appointments usually take between 30 and 45 minutes.

As primary healthcare practitioners we can be the first port-of-call for anyone who walks through our door. This can mean that we will see people for whom osteopathy is not appropriate, and these people will be directed to the appropriate avenues of care.

Normally, however, we would observe how forces are moving through the individual and attempt to identify different areas where this may not be happening perfectly (areas of dysfunction).

Osteopathic treatment is a combination of hands-on therapy by us, and lifestyle adaptations by you. Patients seek treatment for a wide variety of conditions, including back pain, changes to posture in pregnancy, postural problems caused by driving or work strain, the pain of arthritis and sports injuries.

Our Services

Therapy at the SW7 Clinic

Cristina Cioffi has joined our team to provided Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) in South Kensington. These therapies are based on the idea that the way we feel and, consequently, our way of living, are largely influenced by the beliefs that we hold about ourselves.

With Cristina at The SW7 Clinic you will use CBT and REBT to work on identifying unhelpful beliefs, transforming them into helpful counterparts and bringing the behaviours in line with these new helpful beliefs. This will, in turn, lead to healthier emotions.

The therapy is aimed at overcoming specific problems, while working towards a generally more constructive approach to life and increased wellbeing. The final objective of every therapy cycle is to help you become your own therapist.

Nutrition at the SW7 Clinic

Kelly Hafner is a Fully Qualified Registered Nutritionist and Health Coach. Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine is a holistic and personalised approach to health that seeks to identify the root cause of imbalances in the body that are leading to unwanted symptoms.

Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine can help with issues such as digestive issues (IBS/IBD), food intolerances and low energy.

Prior to your initial consultation you will be asked to fill out a health questionnaire along with a 3 day food diary.

During the initial consultation with Kelly, you will go through a Functional Health Assessment to identify your medical history, current concerns,  stress levels and lifestyle habits. After the first session you will receive your tailored program.

Kelly Hafner’s commitment and passion for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine developed through her own experience with health issues.

Sports Massage at the SW7 Clinic

Heidi Parsons qualified in sports massage therapy at the University of Bath. Sports massage is a type of treatment that focuses on manipulation and rehabilitation of muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Patients seek treatment for a wide variety of reasons as it is suitable for, not only sports people, but anybody wishing to relieve tension and the strains of daily life.

Sports massage sessions combine hands-on therapy and exercise advice. A sports massage session can help people recover from soft tissue injuries and help you relax both mind and body.

Foot Orthotics at the SW7 Clinic

In our clinical experience, we have seen numerous cases of poorly fitting, custom foot orthotics which have cost the patient a great deal of money.

We have decided to combat this problem by offering our own custom made orthotics.

As we are registered Osteopaths, we would normally first look at optimising the patient's biomechanics through manual therapy and advice; only suggesting orthotics when we feel that they are necessary.

By offering foot orthotics at The SW7 Clinic, we can ensure that they are not only appropriate for the individual, but also that they are made in such a way that they perform the function for which they are intended.

If you are interested in orthotics, we will take a plaster of paris mould of your foot and then send these off to our technician who will make them out of a carbon fibre blend.

We trust our technician to make orthotics to the highest standards; your standards.
